FREQUENTLY ASKED (FAQS)

WilsonHelps.org is an independent, autonomous, non-profit, non-governmental resource provided by volunteers in Wilson County, TN (much like a "Craig's List") of over 150 help categories along with a corresponding cross-reference of over 150 non-profits, help centers, food distribution outlets, ministries, churches, volunteer groups, government agencies and veterans services to assist those in need. There is also a large number of volunteer opportunities for anyone who has a desire and some free time to become involved. Although there are many local city, county and state government resources which are featured on this website, there is no affiliation, funding or oversight from the governments of Wilson County, the Cities of Lebanon, Mt. Juliet, Watertown, or the State of Tennessee, etc.

The volunteers who provide this website offer it based on the Bible verse in Matthew 7:12, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you"  and Matthew 25:40, "If you have done it to the least of these, you have done it unto Me". Their mission and purpose is to assist others by "offering a hand UP (and not just a hand OUT)" and to share the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ. For more info, please see the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) page.

Yes, we will be happy to forward your comments and suggestions to our volunteers who maintain the  WilsonHelps.org website. Use the CONTACT US form (https://wilsonhelps.org/contact-us) to submit it.

A few years ago, a group of local ministers and community leaders gathered together to discuss how they could better assist those in this area who were less fortunate and who had unmet, often urgent and/or critical needs. On one occasion, someone presented an idea to the leadership about creating a centralized, online resource (somewhat like today's "Craigslist"), which would provide a place where anyone in need could look for help. There was also a desire for those who were interested in volunteering to connect with other like-minded persons. Everyone agreed this would be a wonderful idea as they all expressed a knowledge of various resources and services in the area but did not have a convenient way of coordinating them.

Out of that discussion was born this website, "WilsonHelps.org", which has become a very popular and much-utilized database with almost 150 help categories along with a corresponding cross-reference of almost 150 different many non-profits, help centers, food distribution outlets, ministries, churches, volunteer groups, government agencies and veterans services who are willing to assist those in need. There is also a plentiful number of volunteer opportunities for anyone who has a desire and some free time to become involved.
